May's Creative of the Month
Ian Scheele is a mixed media sculptor and theatre designer based in Moorhead Minnesota who specializes in larger scale installations. He draws heavily on his background in laboratory science, often using forms reminiscent of viruses, zooplankton, crystal lattices, and atomic models. The use of these familiar elements allow viewers to engage with the non-objective sculptures without becoming a specifically identifiable object. Through the work, he aims to incite contemplation and a renewed sense of curiosity in the world.
